How to Make an Iced Matcha Latte at Home Using Just a Frother

Dec 13, 2023

An iced matcha latte will change your morning.

Matcha is made from green tea leaves that primarily grow in Japan.

It is ground into a fine powder to be used for the tasty, extra healthy drink that we love to consume.

Making iced matcha lattes can be easy and made from the comfort of your own home.

No need for a blender either, just use a frother!

Read on for the benefits of matcha and a delicious recipe.

Benefits

I drink an iced matcha latte every day for the taste (of course!) and the many benefits. Some of the benefits of matcha include:

→  Energy boost without the jitters

→  Loaded with antioxidants

→  Helps with anti-aging of the brain

→  Protects our liver

→  Speeds up that metabolism

→  Immunity strengthener

→  Gives your skin a nice glow (WE LOVE!!)

I am obsessed with matcha and love how it can be consumed in different ways.

Don’t get me wrong, at first the taste is a little strange. Definitely a preferred taste and not for everybody.

However, I’ve found that the more I drink it, the more I crave the taste.

Another great thing about it, is that when I get busy and don’t drink it in the morning or I forget to drink it, I don’t get a withdrawal from it.

No headaches.

No shaky hands.

No other caffeine-related symptoms when you don’t have it.

I love that I don’t rely on it to function.

I am not a coffee kind of gal.

I don’t drink it unless it’s a flavored ice coffee from Dunkin or the Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino from Starbucks.

So if you are looking for an energy boost without the jitters in the morning or during that afternoon slump, an iced matcha latte is the way to go!

Especially, if you don’t like the taste of coffee like me!

Ways to Make Matcha

There are so many different ways to make a cup of matcha. You can drink it warm, like a cup of tea, or poured over ice.

I used to drink it warmed up, where I would boil water, add my matcha powder, some milk, and a little touch of honey.

Now I drink my matcha poured over ice. I love the refreshingly cold drink in the summer when it is really hot outside.

I absolutely love how other powders like protein and collagen can be easily added to the matcha powder.

I put collagen powder in my matcha every morning so that I get my energy boost while I am rejuvenating my skin, hair, and nails, as well as strengthening my bones and joints.

I use a handheld frother to make my matcha daily. You can find the exact one I use here.

You can also use a whisk to make your matcha latte, but I definitely recommend using a frother because matcha tends to get clumped up easily in water.

The frother easily mixes the drink perfectly while also adding that fancy layer of foam at the top of the drink.

It for sure makes it look and taste professionally made.

When it comes to matcha recipes, it is all about testing out what you do and don’t like.

I personally like mine pretty plain.

I simply put matcha in water, add a drop or two of whole milk, and froth it all together.

Some people like adding a sweetener, honey, or regular sugar.

It’s really up to you!

As you test out this recipe, feel free to vary the amount of water, matcha, and/or milk until you absolutely love the taste.

I personally eyeball all of the ingredients. I don’t use measuring cups or tablespoons cause I don’t got time for that!

The matcha I use has collagen already in it and can be found here.

The brand is 360 Nutrition.

I really like it because it has the collagen already in it so that

1) you don’t have to buy collagen separately and

2) you don’t have to take the extra step to mix it into the drink.

360 Nutrition’s Matcha + Collagen also has 7 grams of protein in each serving.

This can make for a great post-workout drink because the protein is great for muscle recovery and repair.

I love matcha and I hope you do too! Don’t hesitate to try it a few different ways. Enjoy this recipe and add or take out any ingredient.
