The Skinny Confidential is a lifestyle and beauty brand created by Lauryn Bosstick. It started out as a blog and has bloomed into a podcast and a product business, with multiple collaborations with big brands.

The first two products that I have bought from The Skinny Confidential are their Pink Balls Facial Massager and their Ice Queen Face Oil. This came in a set for $119 and has been called the Chisel Kit. 

I am here to give you my full product review on these two luxurious items, but first let’s answer some of the general questions about facial massages/massagers.

What is a facial massage?

A facial massage is a technique that involves the stimulation of pressure points throughout the face, neck, and decolletage (neck, shoulders, and chest). 

It can be done with your hands, a facial massager, or a gua sha tool. Facial massages also use face oils, serums, or lotions for a lubricant (because we never want to drag on the skin unless it is properly lubricated). 

What are the benefits of receiving a facial massage?

Whether receiving or giving yourself a facial massage, it will increase circulation in the face, promote lymphatic drainage, reduce puffiness in the face, and move toxins out of the facial cells.

The Skinny Confidential Pink Balls Facial Massager 

These are really the only balls you want on your face. When I tell you that these grip your face in the most perfect way, I am not exaggerating. 

The design could pass for a sex toy and will definitely raise some questions when guests (who are not in the know) see this perfectly pink item sitting on your shelf. But once you tell them the magic it creates, they will be purchasing one ASAP. 

This product had a lot of thought put into it. It is big enough to fit your face perfectly. You won’t have to go over your face fifty times to get every spot. 

The balls glide across the face smoothly. While the pink balls are rolling, they move inward slightly, sculpting the face. 

The Pink Balls Facial Massager was NOT made cheaply either. It is heavy weight and feels quality-made, unlike most facial massagers. 

The handle is a soft but firm material that allows you to grip the handle securely. At the end, it has a round loop where you are able to hang it on a hook if needed. 

The balls have a million small, flat surfaces (similar to an octagon, but with more flat surfaces) to sculpt and contour the face. The material that the balls are made out of is cooling and leaves the face refreshed. 

Lauryn definitely thought of everything when designing it. 

The benefits of the Pink Balls Facial Massager

→ Gives you a facelift without having to go to a professional

→ Increases circulation and oxygen to the face, which promotes the production of collagen (Umm, natural glow? Hell yes!!)

→ Gets rid of toxins in the face and reduces muscle tension, leaving a beautiful, contoured look. 

→ Aids in draining lymphatic fluid from the face. Lymphatic fluid can weigh down the face, so draining it can quickly lift the face.

→ Makes you feel so confident (& just that is enough for me to use it every morning!!)

Things I don’t like about the Pink Balls Facial Massager

→ I need to learn how to properly clean it.

→ Nothing else (it’s the best, I LOVE IT!)

I am obsessed with not only how it has chiseled my face, but also my collar bones. I roll it over my collar bones every morning, and I have really noticed them being more contoured and prominent. 

The Skinny Confidential Ice Queen Face Oil

Face oil is a new thing for me. I have never had a need to use it. However, it is the best thing for using facial massagers or a gua sha tool. 

Nothing is worse than dragging/pulling your skin, especially your face’s skin. Hello?? That is our money maker, we can’t be abusing it!

So, if you are going to be doing facial massages on yourself, you need a good face oil. & luckily, Lauryn didn’t disappoint with this product either. Her Ice Queen Face Oil is an antioxidant packed facial oil that you need to have in your skincare routine. 

If you are trying to use cleaner beauty products, this one falls into that category. 

The key ingredients in the Ice Queen Face Oil are:

→ Pomegranate seed oil

→ Raspberry seed oil

→ Blueberry seed oil

We love us some fruit seed oils.

The benefits of the Ice Queen Face Oil

→ Good ingredients (also vegan, gluten free, and cruelty free)

→ Has tons of antioxidants (which is great for the production of collagen)

→ Hydrates the skin (keeps your moisture barrier strong)

→ Reduces the look of fine lines and wrinkles (Hell yes!!)

→ Helps facial massager glide smoothly across skin

→ A little goes a long way (and the bottle lasts a long time!)

Things I don’t like about the Ice Queen Face Oil

→ It is $46 for just the bottle, so if you are on a budget this might be on the higher side. 

However, it is packed with great ingredients so keep in mind that quality can be a higher price (& the 1 fluid ounce lasts a long time; I’m on my third month with the same bottle).

When trying out the Ice Queen Face Oil (or any face oil) monitor how your skin responds to it. Everyone’s skin is different and responds to products differently.

How do you use skinny confidential pink balls?

First, apply the Ice Queen Face Oil to your face, neck, and collar bones. Next, gently roll the Pink Balls Facial Massager over your face, in an upward motion. Then, gently roll it down the neck to help with lymphatic drainage. Last, gently roll the tool over the collar bones. 

Feel free to roll it wherever you feel that your body needs it too.

Do face slimming massagers work?

A face slimming massager will not reduce fat in the face. The only way to lose fat in your face is through eating healthy and exercising. However, a face slimming massager can reduce puffiness in the face by draining lymphatic fluid. This can give the face a more sculpted look. 

How often can I use a face massager?

You can use a face massager everyday or even twice a day (once in the morning and once at night). To see results, use it at least 2-3 times per week. As long as you aren’t applying too much pressure and you are using a proper face oil, serum, or lotion, you can use it up to 2 times per day. 

I personally use mine every morning. It gives me a sculpted face and defined jawline. Face massagers are also good for making the skin brighter because of the increase in circulation. If you start using it every morning, you will start to feel more confident in your appearance. 

What are the disadvantages of facial massage?

If you are excessively giving yourself facial massages, whether with your hands or a tool, it can lead to skin irritation and inflammation. 

If you have any skin disorders, like psoriasis or dermatitis, you should consult with your doctor before getting or giving yourself a facial massage. 

If you have relatively normal skin and don’t have to consult with a doctor beforehand, still be sure to monitor how your skin reacts to a facial massage. Everyone’s skin is different and what works for one might not work for all. 

Conclusion

I am a huge fan of The Skinny Confidential. It is actually my inspiration for my blog. I am obsessed with skincare and anti-aging techniques. Lauryn tastefully adds to the beauty industry, and I hope that one day I will be able to do that too. 

The Chisel Kit (Pink Balls Facial Massager and Ice Queen Face Oil) is the way to go. It is one of  the best investments I have made in my at home skincare routine. I definitely notice when I don’t use it.
